We’ve been tutoring for several weeks. By now, you’re probably in a great routine/rhythm. However, sometimes it’s good to add a game or new activity to keep your student’s interest. Check out Tip #1 for some good activities. The second tip is to help our readers become more fluent!
1. Our kids before Christmas break may get a little antsy. A literacy game is usually very helpful: http://www.fcrr.org/for-educators/sca_2-3.asp Pick a concept you want to work on (listed on the last half of the webpage), view and print out the document with games/activities.
2. Find a book that fits their interests (even it’s too hard) and read it to them during part of your session. You’ll actually be helping their fluency by “modeling.”
