Struggling readers will benefit from activities that are multisensory.  Let’s try to make our activities include “saying”, “seeing”, and “moving” at the same time.   Check out this week’s tips:

  1.  To remember a letter or sound, have the student form the letter out of play-dough.  Then have the student SAY the letter/sound while they TRACE the letter/sound with their finger.

  2. If they can’t sound out a word, ask them to guess what the word MIGHT be based on context and pictures.
