• In our orientation this year, we discussed the effect of trauma and toxic stress on the brain and learning. Here is a short video from Harvard University’s Center on the Developing Child. • Standardized tests use certain terminology when asking questions. Help your student prepare by using some of the same terminology when you ask them comprehension questions. Here are some example words: sequence, main character, main point, determine, summarize, effect, retell, conclusion, etc.
